Biography

Savoy Ellis is a Los Angeles–based R&B/soul producer, songwriter, and recording artist who releases music under his own name with a rotating cast of featured vocalists — the producer-as-artist model of Mark Ronson, DJ Khaled, and Metro Boomin, applied to modern soul. Every record is written and produced by Ellis; every voice on it is credited front and center.

A Hampton University alumnus, Ellis has built an eleven-release independent catalog spanning 2016–2026, anchored by the 2021 vocal LP The Love Album and the 2025 instrumental album What Had Happened Was, alongside his ongoing Love Singles series. His sound is modern cinematic soul — lush, melodic productions built to put featured voices at the center of the frame.
